CUDAHY, WI…The Wisconsin Chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI-WI) gave a generous donation to the Cudahy Family Library on November 15, 2014.

SCBWI-WI member Rochelle Groskreutz presented a basket of 49 books and a check for $100 to help with processing fees. Groskreutz won the Book Basket at SCBWI-WI’s 2014 Fall Conference.

With all titles donated by SCBWI members, the intention of the basket is to put quality books, most written by WI authors, into the hands of children/teens who might not otherwise have access to the book.

“We really appreciate the donation. It’s wonderful to be able to share more books with our community,” said Cudahy Librarian Liz Puczylowski.

“I was so excited to win the Book Basket this year. It was great to give back to the community where my childhood reading memories started,” Groskreutz added.

SBCWI-WI is a regional chapter of The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators—one of the largest existing organizations for writers and illustrators.

SCBWI is the only professional organization specifically for those individuals writing and illustrating for children and young adults in the fields of children’s literature, magazines, film, television, and multimedia. SCBWI’s mission is to support the creation and availability of quality children’s books around the world.
