Attending and presenting at the Write by the Lake Conference last week with UW Madison’s Division of Continuing Studies, I took a fun and fabulous class with Angela Rydell on flash fiction. Here’s my 60 word, 60 second, short-short story:
Said I could. Hadn’t she? I scrawled my name, looked around, wrote hers under a deluge of dangerously long legal words, which meant nothing to me. Made it look like her writing, neat, tidy, slightly upright. She’d said I’d do it. Anyway. Ride the rodeo–even if it left me bent-up, busted, half-dead like dad. She’s always gotta be right.
Try it yourself, it’s a blast!
